Silicon Valley see India as ‘incredibly exiting’

India smartphones LA times1By June 2016, more Indians are expected to access the Internet on their cell phones – 371 million – than the entire population of the United States. This leaves nearly 1 billion Indians not yet connected. These and other insights are presented in the Los Angeles Times March 6, 2016 (please click here).

We also learn that “India has become, besides the U.S., the biggest opportunity still out there,” according to the Investment Director at Intel Capital, Sanjit Singh Dang.  Apple just announced that they are opening a 150-person office in the southern city of Hyderabad. Last year, while iPhone sales were flat worldwide, they grew by 76 percent in India. CEO Tim Cook calls India “incredibly exiting”. It will be interesting to watch this development.
